Cornhole tournament bracket
Cornhole tournaments are mostly double elimination, with partners entered as a team or drawn blind. Plan around the number of board sets, not the number of teams.

Entered order is the seeding. Up to 64.
Cornhole rules that shape the bracket
- Boards are 24 by 48 inches, with a 6-inch hole, set 27 feet apart front to front.
- Each player throws four bags an inning. A bag in the hole is 3 points; a bag on the board is 1.
- Cancellation scoring: only the difference between the two sides in an inning counts.
- Most tournaments play to 21, and the first side to reach 21 or more wins.
Games and time for common sizes
Time per game is set at 20 minutes and 4 board sets. Change either one in the games calculator.
| Field | Games | Court time | Clock time |
|---|---|---|---|
| 8 teams, double elimination | 14 | 4 h 40 min | 2 h 40 min |
| 16 teams, double elimination | 30 | 10 h | 4 h |
| 24 teams, double elimination | 46 | 15 h 20 min | 5 h 20 min |
| 32 teams, single elimination | 31 | 10 h 20 min | 3 h |
Which format to use
Double elimination is the standard: with 16 teams every team is guaranteed two games, and a single bad inning does not end a run.
A blind draw (partners drawn at random) works well for social events. Enter the pairs as the teams and seed them at random.
Give each game a board set. If you have 4 sets, no more than 4 games can run at once, so a big first round takes several slots.
