Round robin brackets and schedules by team count

A round robin has every team play every other team once: n × (n − 1) ÷ 2 games. Pick your team count for a schedule with the rounds, the matchups and a rest for each team when the number is odd.

When to use it

A round robin is the fairest format: every team plays every other team and the standings sort themselves out. It works best up to about ten teams, because the games grow with the square of the field.

With an odd number of teams one team rests each round. Ties in the standings are broken by the head-to-head result, then point difference, then points scored.

Check the courts before you pick a size. A round has n ÷ 2 games for an even number of teams, so ten teams need five courts to finish a round together. With fewer courts, count each round as more than one time slot.

Each size page below lists every round and every pairing, so you can post the schedule and let teams find their own games.
