Entered order is the seeding. Up to 64.
How the legs are built
The first half of the season is a normal round robin. The second half repeats it with home and away swapped, so each pair meets once in each role.
Within each half, home and away alternate as evenly as the schedule allows: no team has more than one extra home game, and for an odd number of teams the split is exact.
Games and weeks
A double round robin has n × (n − 1) games: 6 teams play 30 games over 10 rounds, 8 teams play 56 over 14. With an odd number, add a rest round to each leg.
Worked example: six teams, home and away
Six teams play 30 games in ten rounds. The first five rounds are an ordinary round robin, and the last five repeat the same pairings with home and away reversed. That keeps the legs balanced: each team has five home games and five away games over the season.
Eight teams play 56 games in fourteen rounds, and ten teams already play 90. If your venue time is limited, cap a double round robin at about eight teams, or split a bigger league into two groups of equal size.
When to choose it
Pick a double round robin when the season is the point: leagues, ladders and club nights where every team wants a return fixture. Pick a single round robin plus a playoff when the schedule has to fit into one weekend.
